about

"...when you discover such gems like Lilu’s Song by Zefora, you know it has been a good day. All is well that ends well! But when the beginning, intermediate and final sections of an Odyssey make every pore on your skin relax and induce a happy dreamy state without any Mary Jane on offer, you know you have uncovered Stupendosity. Spas might be out of business and the world might be a peaceful place, courtesy [of Lilu's Song]." --instantfilter.com

The debut EP from singer/songwriter Zefora is a relaxing journey through downtempo ambience. The haunting flute of "Forest Rain" gives way to her most popular song to date, "Lilu's Song", a relaxing odyssey that has been likened to Massive Attack and Portishead. "Solstice" continues in that vein with minimalist electronics accompanied by lush, introspective vocal harmonies. "Passerine", written for filmmaker Joe Zazulak, is a gentle lullaby that incorporates delicate piano with a haunting melody and lyrics, carrying the listener through death and into rebirth with the soaring meditative vocal acappella of "Sunrise". Each Elysian Dream brings moments of introspection and hope, the perfect escape from the hassles of everyday life.

Track Name: Passerine
comfort distaining
the night is waning

black eyes
nightshade encircles my mind
the fingers black entwined

cold rain on my skin
the eidolon within

look to the moon
wind rising

as I fly in darkness tender
my corvid soul to keep

On a sea of pins and feathers
I lay me down to sleep

On a sea of pins and feathers
I lay me down to sleep
